Forum Marketing is simply another form of social marketing, by which you as a marketer search out forums related to your given niche, and by joining and participating and helping others, you gain credibility and can gain loyal readership. Forums give you the ability to reach your target audience and develop an image for your brand and yourself.
Forum marketing is a very effective and a no cost way of promoting your home business. However, it amazes me how many people get this step wrong. If your looking at forum marketing to get you an overnight flood of traffic, that simply isn’t going to happen. And what happens more often than not with a newbie forum marketer, is they’ll go out and locate a few forums in their niche, and then immediately start spamming the forum to death.
This of course ends up getting them banned from the forum. I am not sure if this happens due to desperation or greed or what causes it exactly. In today’s Internet marketing environment, people are simply to savvy and they know when your out to do nothing but get their name and email so you can start sending them offer after offer. So they are going show a great deal of reluctance to even click your signature link.
How do you overcome this?? It’s simple actually, it does take more time and patience. All you need to do is take a completely different approach. Today you absolutely have to earn the right for someones name and email address. Is there anything wrong with that? No! that is the way it is suppose to be.
Here’s exactly how to approach it, and if you do it this way, people are far more apt to trust you and the forum mediators will also have a lot more trust in you. Your first 10 postings in any forum should not contain your signature file. Simply offer up constructive and helpful information. Get a dialog going. Let people get used to you, and be sure to give answers that are truly helpful and of benefit.
Then when you have people responding to you and saying good things, your foot is finally got that door cracked open a little, and your efforts have created trust, and the information has proven itself to be correct. Now they are talking positively about you, and now is the time to add your sig file to your postings.
Most all traffic systems take a little time to get going. But when you work with forums, and you do it the right way, you’ll be amazed how many benefits you’ll gain and how many will begin to talk about you. Eventually you’ll begin to realize a steady boost in traffic and links. You may even be surprised at just how much more about your niche you uncover as well. You could quite easily walk away with and ebook idea or a short report idea. It is about benefiting everyone involved.
